Really pleased to share that OneHive is now the technology partner for Inner Spark, the flagship programme of the Goyal Foundation!

Since 2021 Inner Spark has delivered fully funded personal development workshops in schools across the UK, reaching more than 300,000 young people. Now they are aiming for 1 million by 2030. That kind of growth can’t run on the systems that got them here, and that is where we come in.

Who is Inner Spark?

Inner Spark was founded by Anita Goyal MBE and Avnish Goyal CBE, and the name says it all. Each workshop is built around SPARK: self-awareness, purpose, accountability, resilience and kindness. Trained facilitators spend a full day in a school, mostly with secondary students, and the sessions are free for schools with high levels of disadvantage. Students come away more confident and more positive about their future. The workshops also support schools’ Ofsted personal development goals and the Gatsby Benchmarks for careers guidance.

The challenge: scaling school workshops without scaling the admin

Every great programme hits the same wall eventually. Inner Spark had a national network of facilitators, hundreds of schools and some seriously ambitious targets, but every booking still meant emails back and forth between teachers and facilitators. Impact surveys went out through teachers, so completion depended on how busy the school was that week. Schools rarely got their own results back. It is not a talent problem, it’s a systems problem.

Roxy Potts, Inner Spark’s Chief Partnerships Officer, put her finger on the real goal straight away. She wants an organisation that keeps running smoothly even when a key person is away for two weeks. That is the definition of #resilience, and it is exactly what SPARK teaches young people.

How OneHive and Inner Spark mapped the whole journey

We did what we always do and started with the Assess stage. In a half-day workshop at our London Bridge office we mapped every step, from a teacher first enquiring to the impact report landing back in the school. Think of it as stripping the car down between races. We found 4 core flows: school bookings, facilitator coordination, post-workshop feedback and the student journey after the workshop. Each one had its own pinch points.

What the Inner Spark platform will do

The new Inner Spark platform runs on OneHive and carries Inner Spark’s own branding:

  • Schools can book a workshop straight from the Inner Spark website, matched to available facilitators by date and region.

  • Facilitators get their own portal for availability, training and feedback.

  • Pre- and post-workshop surveys are automated.

  • Every school gets its own impact report, and funders get a live view of the schools they support.

  • Young people get a portal to keep learning after the workshop, starting with Inner Spark’s youth council, the Bright Spark Council.

Our job is simple: remove the operational friction so the focus stays on the young people.

Why impact data matters for school-based charities

If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. Funders want evidence, and schools want to know the session made a difference. Young people deserve programmes that keep improving. When the data flows automatically, a charity can prove its #impact without burying its team in crap-min. Anita Goyal is clear that reputation is everything for Inner Spark, and auditable numbers protect it.

Thank you, and what comes next

Huge thanks to Anita Goyal and Avnish Goyal, and a massive shout out to Roxy Potts, Georgie Cammack and Aneesha Barodia for opening up every corner of how Inner Spark works. On our side, credit to Naveed Sheikh, Reeya Patel and Alex Guilbaud for the build. SPARK and our THRIVE framework speak the same language, so this partnership felt right from the first conversation.

1 million young people by 2030. Let that sink in. Let’s make sure this is the start of something much bigger. Don’t just embrace the change, #BeeTheChange!
